Bosnia i Hercegovina, 1998

Damaged House along the road to Bijeljina

To paraphrase Bertrand Russell , the demarcation line of evil does not run between the borders of nations, but through the hearts of every man and woman. In Bosnia, the borders are closer to the hearts of the people. To those unfamiliar with the area of operation, the jumble of lines, markers, and minefields can be frustrating and confusing. Just ask a Serb, Croat, or Bosniac, and they'll tell you the history, the importance, and the price of the land around them.
